I just called Melody and told her my mother had fallen down the stairs, broken her leg, and was being carted to the hospital.
She was on the verge of bawling and bought it ONE HUNDRED percent.
You'd think after being the little sister of me and Jimmy her whole life, and on April first no less, she'd have been wiser.
Of course now my mom is trying to act like she had nothing to do with it, despite the fact that it has her idea to include the stairs and the leg story, and despite the fact that she had me put Boost on speaker so she could hear the whole reaction.
I love April fool jokes and the best ones go a little too far.
HELLO?? Does any one else out there think this was really sick and wrong?!?
ReplyDeleteIt is true, however, that you would think I would have learned by now. Sadly, I have not.
I really think it is because I was around no one all day, Mike and I didn't even think of it, and mainly, I really didn't think anyone would have that demented of a joke going. Might has well have called up balling saying mom and dad were in a car accident. It's on the same level.
And now I have a stomach ache.
Dad told Joe Barrack Obama resigned today. Joe went for it.
ReplyDeletebahahahaha.... now THATS funny, and much more of an appropriate april fools.
ReplyDeleteMelly...you KN0W I was against this...I couldn't stop him...I suggested the broken leg thing only to stop him from saying a heart attack or something...I honestly didn't think you'd buy it so quick...though I do pitch off steps pretty easy I guess haha I made him put it on speaker so that if you really flipped out I would have screamed out right away it was an april fool....the whole thing was over in less than a minute.....HOW could you have bought Chuck of all people??.....love you...mom
ReplyDeleteWell, I have a demented April Fool's of my own! Usually I don't even join in on these jokes/pranks. I really don't know what got into me. I contemplated for a long time on who to try it on, thought about my sisters but didn't think they would of gone for it, then I thought about Mom, but quickly dismissed that as I thought she might have a heart attack or a stroke. I decided Todd, I was prepared when he got home emotionally, head in my hand acted like I had been balling, hemmed and hawed around telling him I was too afraid to tell, then finally went through symptons I have been having etc. and then blurted out I AM PREGNANT! He went for it hook line and sinker! I wished I hadn't done it though, because I just thought he would go bizerk but instead he was shocked but had a smile and was ready to work it. Then he clued in and said April Fools and he started laughing telling me good one. So, how tweaked was that?
ReplyDeleteBy the way your's was demented John, But at least I agree with Deb better to have a broken leg, anything more would of been sick and off the charts. What's wrong with us?
Good one, Donna! Chuck, having an injury involved was fairly tweaked, altho' I must say it seems you might have seen it coming, Mel.
ReplyDeleteGood one, Donna. Chuck, having an inury involved was fairly tweaked. Mel, I must agree tho', I would not have thought you would buy it. Hope your stomachache is better......
WOW John, that was definately demented!!!! Poor Mel, you know she worries about her Mom.
ReplyDeletei don't buy for a second that my mom wasn't directly involved - im sure she was in on it..
ReplyDeletei remember one april fools day where we were helping joe move out of his apartment. when we got there i was wrapped in a million bandages as if i had been in a horrible accident - and MY MOM sold the story to joe - who TOTALLY bought it - practically ready to cry.
